Jamie Foxx says he’ll be opening up about current life events while promoting his upcoming special “What Had Happened Was…” on Netflix.

“I can’t say it enough that I am blessed to be able to tell my story in my own way. So many people have prayed to say thank you…” Foxx, 56, said on Instagram on Sunday.

The Terrell, Texas, native thanked fans in Atlanta, where he made his comeback to the stand-up stage.

“A big thank you to Atlanta. You were there and made me feel at home. I felt safe after not being on stage for 18 years. You made me feel like it was just yesterday… I can’t wait for everyone to experience that vibe.” “We did,” said the Oscar-winning actor.

Foxx said of filming the special, “It was like we were going to church… we laughed… we had a few tears… but at the end of the day we celebrated life… and second chances… we can’t wait.”

Choke No Joke, a producer and director, told Comedy Hype’s YouTube account on October 7 that he was at the first and third shows.

Choke No Joke said Foxx identified himself as “the person who called the FBI about” Combs, 54, who has been in custody since his arrest in September in New York City on federal sex trafficking charges.

Foxx said in a serious tone during one of the shows that “Diddy was responsible for what happened to him,” said Choke No Joke.

Foxx withdrew out of fear of retaliation from Combs, Choke No Joke said, pointing out that the actor quickly returned to the spotlight after Combs’ arrest on Sept. 16 – when he attended a Dallas Cowboys practice the following week participated.

Choke No Joke added: “And now he’s just filmed his special.” And who does the special revolve heavily around? Diddy.’

Choke No Joke subsequently told Page Six that he was “shocked” when Foxx spoke about the topic, as he had previously heard rumors in the entertainment industry linking Foxx’s health problems to Combs’ legal troubles.

Big Homie.CC, a celebrity bodyguard, said in an Oct. 19 exchange with Cam Capone News that he believes Foxx was “poisoned” by Combs last year, which led to a long recovery period and convinced Foxx to report it to authorities to provide information in this regard combs.

Another attendee, Dennis L.A. White, told the outlet he was at the last two shows and believes Foxx distanced Combs from his health issues in his monologues.

White said Foxx said something to the effect of, “People keep asking me if Diddy is responsible.” He wasn’t responsible. If it had been him, I would have been dead.’

Foxx promoted the shows on his social media on September 2, saying he would “take the stage to share his journey through a serious health crisis full of humor, heart and inspiration!”

The ad said: “Experience Jamie Foxx like never before in this intimate and captivating performance as he discusses his struggles, triumphs and everything in between. “Get ready for a night of laughter, reflection and true connection.”

In a teaser for the show, directed by Hamish Hamilton, Foxx said: “I said, ‘If I can stay funny, then I can stay alive’ – I’m back.”

The comedy event is one of several upcoming projects the high-profile actor has planned, as he directs the comedy film Back in Action for the streaming service in a reunion with Any Given Sunday and Annie co-star Cameron Diaz. The film is expected to stream on January 17, 2025.

“What Had Happened Was…” is set to release on Netflix on December 10th.
