Jayden Daniels has many exceptional qualities. Staying calm, no matter the situation, is the top priority.
The Washington Commanders quarterback has a poise beyond his years. Daniels’ flawless demeanor and ability to thrive in the biggest moments was exactly what the powers that be had in mind when they selected him No. 2 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. And he’s now within touching distance of becoming the first rookie signal-caller to lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance.
Until then, the Philadelphia Eagles still have to get through on the road. The NFC East opponents have each picked up one win from their meetings this season. Washington enters the game as underdogs, but that hasn’t bothered them in the postseason so far and probably won’t again.
This is all thanks to the team’s great trust in Daniels. You will know that he will not change, regardless of the advantage or deficit. He stays on track and almost always delivers the goods when called upon. Players, coaches or fans in the stands can’t do anything about it.
This will be a hostile environment for Daniels and the commanders. Lincoln Financial Field is notoriously intimidating and the Philadelphia fan base is not exactly pleasant, to say the least. The former LSU star experienced this in prime time early in the season, so he knows what to expect.
Jayden Daniels’ elite attitude and unflappable demeanor took Commanders to new heights
It wasn’t his best performance in Week 11 at the same venue. However, this time the rib injury that held Daniels back has fully healed. And momentum is everything in this phase of the knockout rounds.
Daniels is not interested in dealing with the verbal abuse he will inevitably receive from the stands. He prefers to let his actions on the field speak for themselves. That’s the best answer when the going gets tough.
“No, it wasn’t even, no back and forth. You know, they’re right to talk like that. They talk trash (talk trash) and I didn’t really say anything. It was just like I just let myself play talk.”

This short quote sums up Daniels’ cold-blooded mindset. He sees and hears everything, but remains emotionless. If anything, it just inspires him more to finish the job and rub salt in their wounds.
That’s a trait that very few quarterbacks in the league possess, least of all a first-year pro who is still learning on the job.
Daniels is focused on the next challenge, getting better every day and nothing more. This tireless will and outstanding work ethic quickly led everyone to follow his example. He readily relies on veterans — particularly Bobby Wagner, Terry McLaurin and Zach Ertz — but each goes the extra mile for his dynamic signal-caller.
This is also a rare trait. And the bigger the tirade from Eagles fans during the NFC Championship Game, the more he’ll shine.
Regardless of how things go, Daniels will be a problem for the Eagles and everyone else for a long time. And the future in Washington is incredibly bright.
Make no mistake there.
