Jayden Danns reflects on the “100% best day of my life” in his final FA Cup game

Jayden Danns wants to make his second FA Cup appearance for Liverpool but it will have to be a very special occasion if it surpasses his last.

With less than half an hour to go, the Scouser took to the pitch and had a dream game, scoring two goals in front of the Kop.

Speaking to ITV Sport, the striker reflected on last season’s clash with Southampton: “Probably my best day of my life, to be honest…

“Once it happens, your life changes. You think about all the (training) sessions you’ve done, go in and then do them – 100% the best day of my life.

“My mom told me she was completely embarrassed because my dad was crying and everyone was just looking at him like, ‘What is he doing?’

“Of course I was happy to make him and my whole family proud, it was a great moment.”

It’s safe to say it’s an evening the academy graduate will never forget, and it’s nice to hear how much he meant to his family too.

The 18-year-old, who was sitting next to Harvey Elliott, beamed as he watched his post-match interview and it truly made for an amazing sight.

Ironically, his only appearance this season also came in the cup against Southampton as injuries hampered opportunities.

This could reduce the chances of an exit at Anfield against Accrington Stanley, but if he does make it, many will surely be excited by the prospect – including Tony Bellew.

Let’s hope it’s a day that rivals a young Red’s dream game.
