Jeep slashes Avenger EV price by +,000 as discounts pile up

Jeep’s latest price cuts include a discount of over $6,000 on the Avenger EV as the SUV maker makes a strong effort to stimulate demand. After aggressive price cuts in the US, Jeep’s big discounts are heading overseas.

Jeep cuts prices for Avenger electric vehicles to stay competitive

While Jeep’s first electric SUV in the US, the 2024 Wagoneer S, arrives at dealers any day, the brand already has an electric SUV on the market.

Jeep unveiled the Avenger electric SUV at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, with first deliveries beginning in early 2023.

When Jeep’s electric SUV arrived in Europe, it had a starting price of around $45,000 (£35,700). Now it’s much cheaper. According to Autocar, Jeep is cutting Avenger electric vehicle prices by over $6,000 (£5,000), undercutting several rivals.

Following recent price cuts, the base Jeep Avenger EV Longitude now starts at just over $38,000 (£29,999). Jeep’s electric SUV is now $3,600 (£2,850) cheaper than the Volvo EX30 and $2,300 (£1,801) less than the Mini Aceman, which is one of the cheapest models in its segment.

Other trim levels, including Altitude and Summit, are almost $6,000 (£4,700) and $6,200 (£4,900) lower, respectively.

The lower pricing puts Jeep’s Avenger in line with the new Ford Puma Gen-E, which was unveiled on Tuesday and starts at $38,000 (£29,995).

When asked about the high discounts, Jeep manufacturer Stellantis responded Autocar that the price adjustment “makes the Avenger EV more accessible to customers and offers them an electric alternative with no significant price difference to an ICE Avenger model.” The gas-powered model starts at around $32,000 (£24,949).

Electrek’s take

Jeep’s latest price cuts follow aggressive U.S. price reductions on top-selling models such as the Grand Cherokee, Gladiator pickup and Wagoneer. For example, the 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is up to $7,000 cheaper than the 2024 model in some trim levels.

Stellantis has made clearing its bloated inventory in the U.S. a key priority to overcome declining sales. Jeep hopes to turn things around with the introduction of the new electric Wagoneer S.

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S starts at $71,995 and has a range of over 300 miles. Jeep’s new electric SUV is packed with the latest software and connectivity technology, but will it be able to compete with the Tesla Model Y or others in its segment? We’ll find out shortly.
