Jets insist they will go down fighting in 2024

The Bills, AFC East champions for the fifth straight year, are 7-0 at home. If the Chiefs beat the Steelers and the Texans beat the Ravens on Christmas Day, the Bills will be in second place with two games to go. But a Steelers victory over the Chiefs would keep Buffalo alive in the fight for the top spot in the conference and a first-round bye.

In Week 6, the Jets lost a 23-20 matchup against the Bills at MetLife Stadium that would have given them first place. They will enter Sunday’s contest seven games behind their division rivals.

“Whether we’re 15-0 or 0-15, I’m going to stick with this routine and continue to prove through my actions that I’m still here and I’m still going strong,” Clark said.

Sherwood, whose career-high 138 tackles leads the Jets, and Clark, whose 61 stops rank fourth, need no additional motivation for two more bites at the apple.

“It’s only two weeks left. There is no reason to investigate anyone,” Sherwood said. “You still have two full weeks of football and preparation ahead of you and you go out there and do your best. In those final moments in seasons like this, it shows what kind of person you are, what type of player you are. “If you’re on this team next year, if you’re on another team next year, this is part of your Your resume and what you record on tape will stay with you forever. I hope that everyone has the same mentality and the same emotions as me. They have to go out there and do more than their best to win these last two games.”

“I want to win football games at the end of the day,” Clark added. “There is no stopping in me. And I can say that personally and I hope that it gets through to the other teammates too.”
