Jhon Durán ends the move to Al Nassr from the Aston Villa

Jhon Durán completed his transfer from Aston Villa to Al Nassr when the Sails team of the Saudi -Pro league strengthened its striker line for the second half of the season.

Durán’s form in the villa had attracted considerable attention from the clubs in Europe and beyond, and the signing is seen as a coup for Stefano Pioli’s team, who is already praising Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané under their ranks.

The 21-year-old scored 12 goals for villa this season, including unforgettable long-haul strikes against Everton in the Premier League and in Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Durán joined the Midlands Club in January 2023 from Chicago Fire for 18 million GBP (22.3 million US dollars), but was repeatedly associated with a deduction from Villa Park when Ollie Watkins’ presence in the forward line regularly was held out of the team.

Wakins was also associated with a deduction from the villa in January, but the exit of the Colombia national player means that Watkins will probably remain in the UNAI Emery team. Sources announced ESPN on Wednesday that the club rejected an Arsenal offer for its services.

Durán was an unused substitute for Villa’s Champions League victory against Celtic on Wednesday, who secured her eighth place and a place in the 16th round.

“Everyone in the Aston Villa would like to wish Jhon all the best in the next step of his professional career,” said Villa in a statement.

In the meantime, sources have announced ESPN that Villa is interested in the transfer period for the striker of Manchester United, Marcus Rashford.

Al Nassr tried to compete in the Saudi Pro League at the highest level this season, and despite the heroic deeds of Ronaldo, who scored 14 goals in 17 games.
