JJ Yeley rages after sprint car accident (video)

Check out the video of JJ Yeley looking a little upset after an accident at Ventura Raceway last night

NASCAR driver JJ Yeley raced last night on the 1/5 mile bull track at Ventura Raceway. The track hosted the Turkey Night Grand Prix with USAC Midgets and USCS Sprint Cars.

Yeley raced into the sprint car main event after winning one of three LCQ races. But everything went wrong in the main race.

With five laps to go, Yeley made contact with young racer David Gasper. Yeley hastily climbed down from his broken machine.

He walked along the embankment, the steering wheel in his hand. Yeley pointed to the No. 18 car and then tossed his steering wheel back and forth with his other hand.

An officer picked up the steering wheel and returned it to Yeley. So Yeley decided to try again.

As Gasper made another lap under caution, Yeley waited again, this time in the infield. He threw his steering wheel back and forth a second time. This time it went far and wide wrong.

Comments by JJ Yeley

“Yesterday we got into a skid or I got into an accident, he hit me head-on, full force and never took off,” Yeley told Flo Sports.

“Then, right there, I don’t know what the hell he was thinking. We’re in 5th place with 10 laps left to go. He just threw a dive bomb in there and destroyed me.”

“You know, he’s the rookie of the year, but someone has to beat him. So if they don’t stop me, I’ll be the first to do it.”

David Gasper is the 2024 Rookie of the Year in the USAC CRA Sprint Car Series.
