Joe Alwyn makes his first late night talk show appearance with Seth Meyers

Joe Alwyn has just reached a new career milestone.

On Tuesday, January 14, the 33-year-old actor made his first-ever late-night talk show appearance. Late Night with Seth Meyers, to promote his latest film, The brutalist.

Directed by Brady Corbet, the film follows Hungarian-Jewish architect László Tót (Adrien Brody), who survives the Holocaust and makes his way to America to rebuild his life.

Things take a turn for the worse after a wealthy family led by prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce) hires him for a job. Alwyn plays his son Harry Lee Van Buren.

He and Seth Meyers had a funny exchange as the two discussed Alwyn’s character.

“The story is about a Hungarian immigrant, played by Adrien, who flees to America after the war. And he gets taken in by this big American noble family who gives him the job of building a monument, and things go wrong,” he said Types of kindness Actor explains. “And I play Harry, the son of this family.”

“And he’s there to oversee parts of the commission and he’s, yeah, he’s slimy and demanding and a little threatening and has some daddy issues and so, yeah, they came to me,” Alwyn continued smiling away.

After laughing, Meyers, 51, praised Alwyn’s performance and pointed out that it was his first appearance on a late-night talk show. “How are you feeling so far?” he asked.

“Terrible,” Alwyn replied, making the audience laugh. He then paused and smiled before telling Meyers, “No, it’s great. I’m just kidding.”

Although Alwyn appeared nervous, his fans reacted positively to his late-night talk show debut in the comments section.

The brutalist comes after Alwyn shows up Types of kindnesswhich will be released in cinemas in June 2024.

A year after his split from Taylor Swift after six years of dating, a source told PEOPLE that Alwyn was “doing well” and was “focused on work” and splitting his time between “London and NYC.”
