  • John Deere used private 5G in Davenport for a few months

  • 5G is used as replans of the factory in the system

  • The 80-10-10 rule for 5G connectivity-80% private 5G, 10% Wi-Fi and 10% wired Ethernet

John Deere, Davenport, Iowa – The self-described intelligent industrial manufacturer John Deere moves private 5G in his Davenport work in the Quad cities.

The factory manager in Davenport Tom Johnson told Fierce Network during dinner on Thursday evening: “5G has been activated for a few months,” he said about the work. The factory has previously provided Ethernet-wired connections and Wi-Fi.

“From the second quarter, it is ready to choose all factory replans,” said John Deere, main architect of the infrastructure and operations, during a tour of the company’s work on Thursday morning. He said that the Nokia 5G company uses radios to cover the huge factory.

With regard to the technical data, the DAVENPORT factory is 50 under the roof. That corresponds to 34 American soccer fields.

The manufacturer uses GLEASTES CBRS spectrum (3550 MHz up to 3700 MHz) to carry out the network. Wallin told me at dinner that the company spoke to startups and with Nokia. However, he would not name the startups yet.

The company plans to stop 80% private 5G, 10% Wi-Fi and 10% wired Ethernet connections at Davenport.
