John Oliver returns to "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart: Watch

John Oliver has returned to his old pounding area.

The moderator “Last week tonight” came as a surprise on Monday in “The Daily Show”, where he reunited himself with Jon Stewart more than a decade after leaving as a correspondent.

“America had fun, did it?” he said. “Experiment with democracy. They fought so hard to get away from us, to behave, to throw all the tea into the harbor – by the way, they still owe us for it.”

He further joked that Great Britain had allowed America to experiment his “wild teenage years with their ridiculous ideas of checks because we knew deep inside that they would be back if they got this nonsense out of their system,” she added. “Let me be the first to welcome America in his monarchy -era!”

Oliver also joked that “for a country that does not want to be an empire”, the United States makes a “good impression of one at the moment”.

Oliver, as a correspondent for “The Daily Show”, rose famous, where he worked with Stewart from 2006. He entered as a host in 2013, while Stewart made a film during the break. The comedian left in 2013 and made his own show “Last week Tonight” on HBO the following year. The last week of “Last week Tonight” will premieren on Sunday.

In a performance in Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast last year, Oliver said that he left “the Daily Show” because his contract had expired and comedy Central “No matter for me”.

Stewart went as a moderator of the “The Daily Show” in 2015 and was replaced by Trevor Noah, who organized until 2022. In the middle of a long search for a permanent replacement, Stewart 2024 returned to host one night a week. It will last at least 2025.
