After President Donald Trump tapped Reps. Matt Gaetz and Michael Waltz to lead his new administration, the two vacated congressional vacancies took Florida politics into uncharted political territory, but that turmoil was short-lived as the president-elect endorsed two candidates in the respective districts and ended the drama.

But is the drama over and could the razor-thin Republican majority in the House of Representatives still be shaken?

The Floridian has learned that President Trump may be close to nominating one or two more members of the Florida Republican Caucus in the House of Representatives to serve in his administration.

Without mentioning who these members of Congress are, the two congressional seats that could become vacant could be addressed in the next few weeks.

Congress is in session until December 30th, and from what we understand, the decision could rest solely with Speaker Mike Johnson.

Let’s just put it this way: As the House committee music chair game comes to a close, the last man standing could be taken over by Team Trump.

Our country deserves better, and that work will begin on January 20th when President Trump takes office.
