Kalen DeBoer is making the case for Alabama to make the playoffs

In its first year under Kalen DeBoer, Alabama football’s regular season has been up and down, but the Crimson Tide still have a very slim chance of making the College Football Playoff.

Alabama kept those hopes alive by defeating Auburn 28-14 at home in the Iron Bowl on Saturday. Kalen DeBoer made the case after the game for the Tide to make the playoffs.

“Everyone knows our schedule and I don’t know the exact stats, but I know we beat four top-25 teams during the year, and I don’t know how many if anyone did that,” DeBoer said. “When you talk about the schedule and week to week, it’s just a hassle having to come back every week. That’s really the only conference that needs to do that, ours. I would say that. We have won five of our last six games by playing physical football. I think we continued to excel in that area with what the game is about. I think those are two pretty big deals. We beat some quality teams, teams that I think are still out there, playing some good ball themselves, and then in the second half of the season we only won five of the last six.”

The College Football Playoff committee will predict the Tide’s fate on Tuesday when the rankings are announced.
