Kate Middleton will be taking on more royal duties during her grand entrance amid the royal health crisis

Princess Kate is expected to take on more royal duties than previously planned on her first state visit since announcing her cancer diagnosis.

She will accompany King Charles and the Prince of Wales as they host the Emir of Qatar and one of his wives on their last visit to Buckingham Palace in three years.

Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Camilla will miss part of the engagement because she experienced “ongoing” side effects from a chest infection she contracted upon her return from a royal tour of the South Pacific in October.

The Princess of Wales will take part in an official welcome by Horse Guards and a carriage procession back to Buckingham Palace.

The 42-year-old, who is gradually returning to royal duties, will also join senior members of the royal family for a private lunch at the monarch’s official residence and view an exhibition of Qatari artifacts from the royal collection.

However, she will miss the state banquet that evening.

In March, Princess Kate announced her cancer diagnosis, but in September the queen revealed that she had completed her preventive chemotherapy treatment while she continued to recover.

The Princess of Wales has attended several high-profile events such as Trooping the Color, Remembrance Sunday and Wimbledon in the past 11 months since stepping back from senior roles to focus on her recovery.

Princess Kate will welcome 1,600 people as they join the royal family at Westminster Abbey on December 6 for their annual carol service, “Together at Christmas.”

The state visit is considered one of the highlights in the royal calendar.

Senior Qatari diplomats have told the Mail they are “deeply honored” that the king has chosen their country to be the first Middle Eastern nation to be invited on a full state visit to the UK since Charles’s accession to the throne.

Queen Camilla, 77, is expected to miss the ceremonial welcome, the outdoor Horse Guards Parade event and the carriage ride back to Buckingham Palace.

The king will attend lunch at the palace after the royal party returns and hopes to view an exhibition at the picture gallery.

Camilla, who contracted a chest infection following her royal tour of Australia and Samoa, is said to have been left with “significantly reduced energy reserves”.

The Queen was forced to withdraw from the Remembrance Sunday Weekend and the Royal Variety Performance in November due to health reasons.

It is believed that the royal doctors are keen to prevent a further setback from the serious chest infection.
