Kellen Moore from Saints feels “ready” for coaching chances

Metairie, La. – When asked how they would describe Kellen Moore, the players of Philadelphia Eagles had a lot to say about their former offensive coordinator.

An offensive magician, a Papa-Joke machine and a man who leads from action were just a few of the terms with which the recently hired New Orleans Saints trainer, who was officially presented by the team on Thursday.

“Kellen is a little magician,” joked Eagle’s offensive Tackle Jordan Mailata on Monday before the Super Bowl. “‘He is a little magician Harry.’ And I think his style of play and the way he calls games and set up other games was crucial for this year.

Can Moore’s success, as a playcaller, get a team? New Orleans believes that. Gayle Benson, owner of Saints, said they wanted a candidate who was “exceptionally light, creative and, above all, an enormer”.

“I think that if you have this kind of relationship with the offensive coordinator, go the extra parts for you,” he said. “I think he definitely has the ability to become a great coach.”

Moore’s former players said that he was calmer, but he is also funny and relaxed, always ready with a kitsch joke.

“I was lucky enough to quickly pass from direct coaching into Dallas, (which) allowed me to go through this process pretty quickly,” said Moore on Thursday. “… I think a lot of people in this league went through this trip. Many quarterbacks have become coaches and there is probably a reason for it.”

Moore described the change from player to Coach as “a shift in seats in one room”, but admitted that at the age of 31 he trained a room with his former teammates.

“It’s about being authentic to be consistent. At the end of the day, when the players feel like you feel that you will be the best version of yourself, you can do everything you can ask for,” said Moore .

Former Cowboys Tight End Jason Witten, who played with Moore from 2015 to 2017 and was trained by him in 2019, said he did it by remaining confident and ready and always taking account of.

“I have had some discussions with him in the past few weeks. I think he has only developed and grown and equipped in his recent years to prepare him for this situation,” said Witten Espn.

Witten said that he had seen this quality in Moore, who said he wanted to become a coach from an early age after watching his father the father High School football.
