Kelly Ripa’s eldest son Michael’s award-winning career moment in the spotlight has been revealed

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ eldest son, Michael, 27, is a talented actor who has been building his portfolio over the past few years.

Most recently, Michael appeared in a short film titled dissociationwhich received an award earlier this year.

Michael played the role of Mr. Derek Cross in the original short web film, which focuses on the invention of a new drug called Socia, which works with an app to adjust your emotions or body with the swipe of a finger.

The focus is on a grieving daughter and mother who use the drug and the risks associated with it, which unfold over the course of the film.

What’s more, dissociation won the award for best episode at this year’s Lighthouse International Film Festival back in June. Michael was among the cast and crew tagged in the celebratory post on director Matt Newton’s Instagram page.

He wrote: “Congratulations to my cast and crew of Dissocia. And thank you to @lighthouseinternationalfilm for the incredible film festival this weekend. Winner: Best Episode. Thanks to @williamphopkins and @ashleyl422 for casting these amazing actors.”

The official synopsis of Dissocia reads: “Dissocia explores the dangers of artificial intelligence as it relates to humans, both in their minds and bodies. Basically, it uses AI to change your DNA and allow you to become a better version of “you.”’

“The drug Socia is designed to work with an app that allows you to adjust your emotions or your body with a swipe of your finger. This film examines how far a grieving mother and a desperate daughter will go to transform their lives with this powerful drug and the risks that come with relying on artificial intelligence to improve their lives.

Dissocia premiered in September at the SoHo Film Festival in Michael’s hometown of New York City. Director Matt shared photos from the red carpet on social media and wrote: “Great evening at @sohofilmfest with friends, students, fellow filmmakers and the community. Thank you to NYC for hosting the NY premiere of our pilot ‘Dissocia.'” Two years ago this was just an idea, a concept, and now we can share it with the world #Filmmaker #Director #Create your own work.

Michael also starred in the Lifetime film. Let’s get physical in 2022, which was supported by Milojo Productions, Kelly and Mark’s production company.

Speaking to People Magazine ahead of the film’s release, the young star opened up about how his acting career has panned out and how grateful he is for his parents’ help.

“I read the script and I really, really liked the character. I thought he was really funny,” he said of his role. He also added: “Plus, it was offered to me – and when you start, when something is offered, you take it. For me it was a given.”

Other major films Michael has starred in to date include: Riverdalewhere he played the younger version of his father’s character, Hiram Lodge, in 2021.

Michael lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn and graduated from NYU with a film degree in 2020. He is the oldest of Kelly and Mark’s three children.

Her daughter Lola, 23, is an aspiring singer and will commute between London and New York City after graduating in 2023 – also from NYU. Joaquin is now 21 years old and a student at the University of Michigan.
