Kenneth (Ken) Allen Obituary | November 30, 2024

Kenneth (Ken) Benson Allen was born on December 1, 1953 in Nampa, Idaho, to Wendell Benson (Ben) Allen and Rosemary Bischoff Allen. Ken was their second child and first son. Ken passed away on November 30, 2024 in Bountiful, Utah, one day before his 71st birthday.

Ken attended and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. After graduating, he continued his education at BYU’s Ricks College and received an MBA from Boise State. He interrupted his education to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guatemala. He loved his mission, the people he served, and the Spanish language.

Ken was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a boy, he loved the Boy Scout program and proudly became an Eagle Scout. He later helped several boys receive their Eagle Scout awards. He was kind, intelligent and friendly. While working for H&R Block, he used his Spanish to help customers with their taxes. His knowledge of tax law attracted clients back year after year.

He loved playing golf with his father and won several golf tournaments together. He had a respectable handicap and had several holes-in-one to his credit.

Ken had the most beautiful smile that lit up the room. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh at any joke, especially the ones he told. Even when his health was failing, he was always friendly and never complained.

Ken loved Boise State and BYU sports. He followed every sports season and knew the players and their stats. He had an amazing memory.

Ken was strengthened by his strong testimony and love for Jesus Christ and his gospel. He was a pure, kind soul. He faced many challenges but overcame them with faith and patience. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness.

Ken is survived by his siblings, Larraine (Jon) Rowberry of Sandy, Utah; Wendy (Gary) McNee of Pocatello, Idaho; Annalee Allen of San Carlos, California; John (Nina) Allen of Rosamond, California and Julie (Tim) Hopkins of Lake Orion, Michigan.
