Kentucky keeps up in 8th place, but has a way to move in front of the Sec tournament

Welcome to the last week of the regular season, Big Blue Nation. Kentucky is probably not where you expected her. The wildcats are 8-8 in a conference game with two games in the regular season plan. In the most stacked SEC ever, it has never been more difficult to secure top seeds for the Sec tournament.

Once again, a remaining against Auburn seems to be possible at the SEC tournament on Friday. It could even be the favorite as long as Great Britain can handle the business on Friday.

Kentucky sits together with Mississippi State and Vanderbilt in a three-way difference for place # 8, but has the tie-breaker because it has the best profit percentage (.667) in games in games against the bound teams. However, Kentucky is only one game back of the place no. 6 and has the tiebreaker via Texas A&M if he can climb the ladder. Ole Miss could complicate things because they are connected to A&M with 9-7 and have the tie-breaker against Kentucky.

There is still a lot to play in the last week of the regular season. Kentucky should be a difficult favorite against LSU and a small dog against Missouri. Win both and there could be a chance to climb No. 5 seeds. Go 1-1 and it probably means starting the SEC tournament as No. 8 seeds. Losing both and you will see Kentucky on Wednesday at the SEC tournament. The cats could fall up to Samen No. 11 if that happens.

We collapse where everything stands with two games to play.

Current rating

  1. Auburn (15-1 won)
  2. Florida (12-4)
  3. Alabama (12-4)
  4. Tennessee (11-5)
  5. Missouri (10-6)
  6. Texas A & M (9-7)
  7. Ole Miss (9-7)
  8. Kentucky (8-8)
  9. Mississippi State (8-8)
  10. Vanderbilt (8-8)
  11. Arkansas (6-10)
  12. Georgia (6-10)
  13. Texas (5-11)
  14. Oklahoma (4-12)
  15. LSU (3-13)
  16. South Carolina (2-14)

Kentucky is still sitting where they have been for a few weeks, and that’s in place # 8, but a 2-0 week could change because everyone is located. The cats have the chance to own the Tiebreakers against Missouri, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt by the end of this week. That could travel well.

Auburn won No. 1 seed on Saturday. As a result, everyone else fights for the best possible seed. Alabama, Florida and Tennessee are in a logjam and that could end with each of the seeds 2-4. This means that a top 5 team in college basketball will probably be number 4 at the SEC tournament.

Projected SEC classification

Using Kenpom projections, the SEC tournament field would look. I used some projected results to find Tiebreaker winners. Seven teams are forecast to achieve double -digit victories.

  1. Auburn (17-1)
  2. Tennessee (13-5)
  3. Alabama (13-5)
  4. Florida (13-5)
  5. Missouri (11-7)
  6. Texas A & M (10-8)
  7. Ole Miss (10-8)
  8. Kentucky (9-9)
  9. Mississippi State (9-9)
  10. Vanderbilt (9-9)
  11. Arkansas (7-11)
  12. Georgia (7-11)
  13. Texas (6-12)
  14. Oklahoma (5-13)
  15. LSU (3-15)
  16. South Carolina (3-15)

Kentucky competed in the first game on Thursday in Nashville against the winner of Mississippi State/South Carolina. A chalk road for a second championship included victories against Auburn, Florida and Tennessee.

Kentucky has to handle his business against the LSU on the Seniors’ Day. That doesn’t exist. But there are also some important games to monitor. The state of Mississippi was supposed to take over the business against Texas at home, but an Auburn win against Texas A&M is required to keep Britain alive for No. 6. The Tennessee Ole Miss game will be important on Wednesday. The cats were able to use the road team. The only way to reach No. 5 seed is that Oklahoma defeated Missouri on Wednesday. The hard ceiling of Kentucky could be set to seed No. 6 if the tigers handle the sooners.

A memory that Ole Miss has two very difficult games with a week when they organize Tennessee and go to Florida. Could very likely be that Chris Beard’s team is 0: 2, but Mississippi State is preferred against Texas at home and has a winnable street game against Arkansas. Kentucky will probably need John Calipari’s team to win a game next weekend. Vanderbilt also has the chance to win with games against Arkansas (home) and Georgia (away). You will be a team that is worth monitoring.

There are still many options on the table, but Kentucky has a way for the upward movement if you can win some games this week.
