KIM Kardashian paid well into six figures for Kanye West’s pianist Philip Cornish to wake her children at Christmas, a source has exclusively told The US Sun.

The Grammy-winning pianist, who has been Ye’s musical director since 2019, has been playing festive tunes at the family’s $60 million mansion throughout December for years.

Philip comes to the family’s Calabasas home “every morning” in December to “peacefully” wake the children while he plays the keys in their living room, Kim previously revealed.

According to an insider, it was Kanye, 47, who first hired Philip to play for his four children he shares with Kim: daughters North, 11, Chicago, 6, and sons Saint, 8, and Psalm (5).

“Kanye and Philip have been good friends and collaborators for years. It was Kanye’s idea to bring him into the house.

“He thought it would be a peaceful, creative way to bring some magic into the children’s holiday routine, and he insisted on it. Although Kim wasn’t originally on board, she initially thought it was unnecessary.

“But even since her divorce, Kim has continued the tradition on her own because the kids love her so much and Kim has grown to love her too,” the source said.

Now everyone “looks forward” to Philip coming to play every year, as the musician has “basically become a member of the family.”

The feeling seems to be mutual, as the insider said Philip is enjoying his performance and the Kardashian clan is also very important to him.

“Philip would do it for free and even tells Kim, but he gets paid for it. It is not a daily amount, but a lump sum, which is currently well into the six-figure range.

“He will also receive Christmas presents and food from the family chef, which is the full VIP Kardashian treatment.”

“It’s a good gig for him and he seems very happy with the dynamic and the way he’s being treated. He doesn’t live too far from Calabasas, it’s also far on the outskirts of LA, so the commute time isn’t bad.

“Kim has always been kind to him and he has become even closer to the children and is teaching North some piano keys. He has become part of the family.”

Over the past few years, Kim, 42, has shared a series of videos of Philip playing a beautiful little grand piano at her famous all-beige, monotone property.

Philip’s music can be heard throughout the 15,000-square-foot home, which is filled with snowy Christmas decorations, including a pine-lined hallway.

Kim previously captioned a video of the music director playing: “It’s that time of year!!!

“@Philthekeys comes by every morning to wake my kids up with piano playing during the busy morning rush, to soothe their little souls and fill them with beautiful Christmas songs.”

Philip has served as music director for Kanye’s Sunday Service since 2019 and has also produced music with the rapper for years.

On an episode of the Can We Talk R&B podcast, Philip revealed that years ago, Kanye randomly called him at 10pm the night before and said, “I want you to wake up the family with Christmas carols on the piano.”

The shocked musician said he replied: “I thought, ‘When?’ And he said, “Tomorrow.”

“I said, ‘Only tomorrow?’ And he said, “Every day until Christmas.” I said, ‘Are you serious?’ He was absolutely serious.”

Philip admitted that when Kanye asks for something, there’s “never much time” to get it done since “everything is now, no matter what you do.”

Although Philip is praised by Kardashian fans for his talents, many criticize the family for their excessive wealth – especially at a time when it’s all about giving back.

“Think of how many people their money could help if they didn’t waste it on nonsense like this,” raged one critic.
