Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 shown in new 43-minute gameplay video

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is the game that will be featured in IGN First in December. So fans of the upcoming first-person open-world action role-playing game can look forward to new content and revelations all month long. First, IGN released the first 43 minutes of gameplay taken from the PC version of the game. You can check them out in the embed below.

As a reminder, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is still based on Crytek’s CryENGINE technology and not Epic Games’ much more popular Unreal Engine. During our Gamescom 2024 chat with Martin Klima, we asked him why. Here’s what he had to say on the subject:

Once we completed KCD, we took a look at the technology we were using and considered what our options were. However, we decided that it made the most sense for us to keep CryENGINE as we spent a lot of time adapting it to our needs and I think we are very happy to do so. I’m pretty proud of the achievement we have now.

We have access to the latest version of the engine. Of course we also wanted to maintain our individualization. Ultimately, the engine we have isn’t quite the same engine that Crytek uses for Hunt: Showdown, but it’s very close.

Warhorse Studios still hasn’t revealed the game’s system requirements. However, they announced that the game runs smoothly even on relatively simple computers, as PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling mentioned in the first official livestream of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2:

We learned from what we did in KCD. We spent a lot more time than in the first game on bug fixes, optimization, performance testing, etc. We’re working on it now, not just on PC but also on consoles for console gamers, so there’s good news for everyone. Give us a little more time, but I think by the end of the year we should be able to tell you exactly what you should get. Personally, I play at home on a 3050 GPU, I think, and it runs buttery smooth. As I said, give us some time for performance testing and we will let you know soon.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is scheduled to release on February 11th for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
