Knicks want the OG Anunoby Cade Cunningham's worst nightmare

New York – When it was time to explain how the Knicks Cade Cunningham contained – what her schedule was – Josh was hard.

Striker Tobias Harris got 22 points in the first half and went 7 out of 10 before the break. That was the most points he had scored in every half of this season. The backup wachmann Malik Beasley brought another 12 into the changing room.

However, the Knicks threw another wrinkle when the game was resumed. New York used the striker Mikal Bridges, another plus defender with length to reach Harris. Bridges put Harris under pressure every time he touched the ball. In the second half, Harris would only score three points.

But when New York had a deficit in fourth entry, it tightened its defense and triggered a massive 21-0 run. The Knicks limited Detroit recently to only 21 points, and it was Anunoby who had suffocated Cunningham throughout the quarter.

“He is a damn good player,” said Hart about Anunoby. “We have defensively confidence in him to protect someone. Obviously we are locked up and vote (Cunningham). He is a good player, but og loves this type of matchups, especially in the playoffs if they can be physical.

Can the Knicks reproduce this formula in game 2 of the series and beyond?

Presumably New York will not change its plan too much until Detroit shows that it can maintain its offenses with Cunningham as a secondary goal scorer.

Piston’s coach JB Bickerstaff insisted that his young team would use Saturday as an opportunity to learn and gain experience. He said the pistons would rely on the film to see how they could get “the recordings of Cunningham), especially in the second half.

For his part, Cunningham called Game 1 Fun and said he was looking forward to game 2 on Monday evening. His thoughts are all about the end.

“They sent me more than anything but corpses,” Cunningham told reporters after the game. “You made sure that you checked myself every time I left, sent her to me all the time and tried to get the ball out of my hands. They were on the same agreement. I just couldn’t choose enough. But we were good for three and a half of the game.

“We just have to close the game.”
