In the expectation of the upcoming event An evening with the original Fab Five: 20 years laterI met with one of the Strange eye People with whom we didn’t spend much time! The very pretty Kyan Douglas, “Pflegeguru” on the original Queer eye for the heterosexual guyTalk to us about performing, styling, self -care and stay in today’s world.

The event, which is moderated by the award -winning journalist Thomas Drayton, will take place on Saturday, February 22nd, at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. Get tickets at Ticketmaster.com now. We’ll see you there!

The reunification in Atlantic City is approaching quickly! Are you looking forward to the show?

Kyan Douglas: I look forward to it! I think this might be the third or the fourth. They are super fun. The boys and I always had this special chemistry together. It’s very fraternal, but simple. It was interesting to see how we are together because we have all aged because there are elements for our friendships that are a bit mature and seasoned. And there are elements in our friendship that are the same. You know that we are annoyed, we know each other in a fundamental way. I may not know what one of the boys is doing at a certain point in time, but I know who they are. This occurs when we all meet in these stage shows. And it’s fun, a lot of fun.

How does it feel to be back with the Fab Five?

KD: It’s always fun. I’m looking forward to it. I retired from television a few years ago. I did that Rachael Ray ShowRegular segments in your show for about 13 years. I turned more episodes from Rachael Ray When I did Strange eyeand we turned a hundred episodes of Strange eye. But I just went television three years ago. I get my solution in this stage show. I don’t have to proclaim everything and, you know, be ready for the camera and deal with production. It is only that the show starts, it flows and ends, and then it is over. And I love it. And I can be with the boys. That’s why I do this that I have an excuse to see the boys a few times a year.

It’s great. Can you tell us more about the show and what our readers have to take part in the event?

KD: Well when we thought about what a Strange eye Reunion Show, an “evening with the Fab Five” would look like this, one of the main concepts was that it would feel a bit like a Strange eye Show while you were there. So we have thrown elements of an episode of Queer eye for the heterosexual guy in the stage show. There will be a revision of the audience. We will usually ask people who come in advance to submit to whether they want a revision. And we will have a team of experts with us. I will be there to monitor the hair. Carson will be there to monitor the wardrobe and we will carry out someone in the audience while the show continues. Ted always creates a ridiculously delicious but dark cocktail, from which he pulled out the 1930s or 40s, and he shows the audience how to do it. If we are lucky, the bar will serve this cocktail during the break.

There are gifts and prices from our sponsors. Jay is a very talented singer and actor. He carries out a few numbers for us. Thom is an expert in interior design and he is a working interior design and has many really well -known customers. And he’s funny. Thom is the unknown. Everyone knows how funny Carson is, how funny and fast. Thom has a somewhat dark humor, but just as quickly. He is delightful and it is fun to see how he can be seen by an expert in something to be absolutely ridiculous and silly. And so all of these elements are there. And yes, it’s a lot of fun.

It is set up in such a way that there is a moderator who asks us questions. So it is a kind of question/answer format, we play some games and the audience has the opportunity to ask ourselves directly and individually.

As a care gym, they remain one of our favorites Strange eye Guys. Do you still pull yourself as a stylist?

KD: No, I don’t. In fact, my practical work with customers in a salon really ended when I started shooting Strange eye Because at that time we shot 15-hour days, 12-hour days. And you know, I didn’t have time to see customers. On weekends it was somewhere press or travel to advertise the show or cable buyers. There was a lot going on and a lot to do. And nature to be a stylist was a colorist that you have to be there. You have to be practical and do it yourself. Thom had an advantage in his industry. He has people who work with him and for him who let his vision happen. So I had to do Strange eye. I had a kind of database in my head of stylists that were great and products I loved, and I would decide what the heterosexual type needed what his event was for the show and made suggestions. But that meant that I had to give up to make hair in a salon. So I let it go a long time ago, I moved more into beauty how Thom does interior design. You know that Thom is not in Jennifer Lopez ‘house that paints the walls or moves on the sofa. He has an idea and an issue and works with a team to achieve this. So I worked Strange eye and how I worked on it Rachael Ray.

They were quoted with the words: “Let me tell you about one -way razor. For me they are illegal. “What are some of your” biggest hits “that you can share with the readers about good style and nursing homes?

KD: Let us talk about aging, because that now has a completely different meaning for me because I am 55 years old. I was 32 years old when I started shooting Strange eye. The body is different at 55, where it is at 32. And you know, basic things: clean your face. I am now a person who is aware of the bioma that is on the skin, and I don’t necessarily want to kill good bacteria because they offer a function, a skin barrier that protects them from diseases and all possible things. So I stay away from rough cleaning agents. For example, I use pure organic witches. It threw some nice things in to clean my face. I will occasionally use a cleaning agent that emulates to a foam to wash my face. Cleaning is important.

It is important to take care of your skin in relation to the sun’s radiation. SPFs are still important and the liquid intake is really important. Most of us go around dehydrated and drink a lot of water, drink water in a clever way. Make sure you get the electrolytes you need if you consume water, either through water that contains electrolytes, or ensure that you are part of your supplementary routine when you take vitamins.

And then there is hyaluronic acid. It is a classic. It is moisturizing for the face. It helps to establish and protect the skin barrier. It is also good to fill fine lines and wrinkles, so it’s a good anti-aging strategy. Vitamin C is still very good to lighten the skin. And the most effective, most effective, the most effective anti-aging ingredient is retinol, a form of vitamin A.

I will carry out a retinol cycle from time to time and retinol is removed dead skin cells. The regeneration of new skin cells will accelerate so that there is fresh skin that is exposed. You always want to use a sunscreen if you go through a retinol cycle. I call it a retinol cycle because I don’t stop. I do not use everyday moisture cream with retinol in it. This is too much. It is something that works as a peeling. It’s great to fight ages, the signs of aging, and it is something that I could do every six weeks for two weeks.

I read a lot about her passion for yoga, spirituality and spiritualism. What do you do to stay centered?

KD: When I was younger, I learned from all of the stuff. I was definitely in student mode and in learning mode. While I was shooting Strange eyeI also completed two different types of yoga teacher training. I did a two -year shamanic internship and studied in my free time. I worked with therapists all my life when I had to. I used journaling. I have an altar at home in which I center mentally.

The only practice that I do every day is when I get into my car for the first time, turn on the car, get the air conditioning going because I live in Florida, and it’s hot. I usually have my greyhound Maya in the back seat. And I have a stone that I hold in a small console and pick up this stone. It is a black obsidian stone. It is not polished, it is rough and heavy. And I can simply connect to the weight. And I find this weight in my center that is the essence of my being. And I’m with it for a while. I thank him for the life and for having a great day and getting safely in the car. I will thank you for the things I appreciate. I will thank you for the good result for the things I am hesitating or that I am concerned about. But mostly I will only be with the basic energy that is Be. I do this for a few minutes and then I start to drive my day or start. I just pull off and go into the world and then don’t think much about it.

We look forward to seeing you on the show! How can our readers keep pace with them?

KD: I have social media, even though I give that I am not so much on it. The best way to keep up with me would be my Instagram account @kyandouglas and my Facebook account Kyandouglasactual. There is the Messenger part of it and people can turn me to me, leave notes. I’m not always there, but I check and interact with it.
