Kyle Larson wins the Homestead Cup after Bowman has come into the wall

It was almost another victory in the 2025 Nascar Cup season for drivers with a surname with ‘B’ when Alex Bowman shied away a position on the homeestead miami Speedway. Alex Bowman took the lead with 33 laps before walking and gliding Bubba Wallace when he got tight at the outcome of Turn 2.

However, the fight for victory was far from over when Kyle Larson was finally charged against his teammate by Hendrick Motorsports. When Larson quickly closed on Polesitter, Bowman tried to go higher to reach Larson’s line, but got into the outer wall in a crucial mistake with only six rounds. Larson fell on the occasion, took the lead and took the sail.

It was Larson’s 30th career Cup series victory and his second weekend after winning the truck race on Friday. He won a victory of the weekend sweeps and lost the lead at the last restart during the XFinity race on Saturday.

A winning car with combat scars

After several tight encounters with the outer wall, the car was not without combat scars with scratches along the right front and right rear fender. After a collision with Josh Berry in the boxing road, there was also a hole in the dented door.

“It was anything but perfect,” said Larson to Fox Sports 1. “I gave up one and a half points there, almost two places there, by climbing into the wall too often. I knew that I would not get the best restart there. I knew that I was not good on the short runs, and I only thought when I left the 11 (Hamlin) and 45 (Redddick behind).

“Only super pumped. One of the coolest victories that I only in my career career because of the heartache I had here, the heartache yesterday, and to keep my head and continue digging, feels really good.”

The best of the rest

Bowman finished second, 1.2s behind the tour when Wallace took third place and at the same time collected the bonus point for the fastest round. The chase Briscoe and Denny Hamlin by Joe Gibbs Racing were fourth or fifth. Chris Buescher, AJ Allmendinger, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Preece and Justin Haley rounded off the top ten.

The race was quite clean with just two precautions for reasons – the first when Christopher Bell and later Ryan Blaney’s engine exploded after the leadership of most rounds. Blaney and Carson Hocevar were the only two drivers who did not reach the checkered flag.
