Lakers could follow 76ers former No. 25 in the free agency

While the Los Angeles Lakers will continue to build their squad around Luka Dončić this summer, General Manager of La, Rob Pelinka, could prepare an offer for a guard of Philadelphia 76ers that becomes an unreserved free agent.

The Lakers are 41-25 (on Monday) and have a good chance of a long playoff run, provided Dončić and LeBron James stay healthy. However, LA still lacks the depth that is necessary to climb the mountain summit and seriously fight for an NBA final.

Pelinka’s task in this low season will be to reinforce the deep card from LA in the middle and with two-way players along the wings, which can thrive next to the ball-dominant wizard of Luka and LeBron.

Pelinka will of course be open to shops, but he will also be adjusted to the free agency, and a guy who is kept in mind in connection with the Lakers is Philadelphia 76ers 24-year-old shooter, Quentin Grimes, formerly from New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks.

Since Grimes came to Philadelphia over trade, he has made Dallas look stupid to separate from him. Sunday evening was the latest example when Grimes went for a team high of 28 points in a victory against Dallas. He also added six templates.

Grimes has an average of 12.7 points per game this year and shoots 38.8 percent compared to three. It offers stubborn on-ball defense that the head coach of Lakers Jj Redick would love.

Grimes, a former total selection of No. 25 in the NBA design of 2021, will certainly attract many applicants in the limited free agency based on his performance at Sixers this season, but the Lakers should make him a priority.

It will be fascinating to see which type of contract Grimes accepts on the market. Pelinka has to hope that the price will not be too steep.
