Las Cruces officer on vacation after the man who has been accused of shoting a weapon

Las Cruces, Nm (Krqe) – A police officer from Las Cruces is now on administrative holiday after shot a man in his back after shooting the suspect with his gun.

The story goes below

The Las Cruces police were called to Peter Piper Pizza near Lohman and Main Street last Thursday and reacted to reports about a man walking around with a weapon.

The police arrived at the scene and then they came across the 19-year-old Gabriel Padilla. When the police were addressed, Padilla said. “He begins to walk through the parking lot to the southwest before he drives south on the Main Street. The official can hear how he shouts the suspect so that he can no longer reach the parking lot,” said Jeremy chief of Las Cruces, Jeremy, Story.

Padilla ran on, but finally fell in his hand with the weapon and an officer opened the fire. Officers came in and put on cuffs. Padilla was shot in the lower back at least once and is expected to be fine. Later he was charged with severe bodily harm, negligent use of a firearm and the resistance to the arrest.

“I don’t think he had a valid hidden wearing license, but he was that the negligent use might cover the discharge that was done by Peter Piper,” said Chief Story.

The Las Cruces police said that a Task Force for Multi-Agency was examining the shootout as part of the standard procedure to ensure that the officer followed the protocol.
