Latest Alabama bowl predictions

The Alabama Crimson Tide finished their regular season with a 9-3 record and are moving up the 12-team College Football Playoff slate. Kalen DeBoer was asked about Alabama’s playoff spot in the postgame press conference following the 28-14 win over the Auburn Tigers.

“We’ve beaten more ranked teams than anyone in the country,” DeBoer said. “We’ve won five of our last six games.”

The Crimson Tide awaits the College Football Playoff Committee’s decision on December 8th. If the picks were based on the AP and Coaches Poll, Alabama would be IN the 12-team playoff field and would travel to South Bend, Indiana to play Notre Dame.

However, before December 8th, there will be a lot of predictions and speculation about where Alabama will land. What do the college football experts think about the Crimson Tide?

Bill Bender – Sports News

Bender ensures that Alabama secures the final bid for the College Football Playoff as number 12. Alabama would travel to play No. 5 Penn State in Happy Valley. Bender predicts Alabama will lose the game.

Jerry Palm-CBS Sports

Jerry Palm expects Alabama to be eliminated from the College Football Playoff but make it to the Citrus Bowl. Palm expects Alabama to play Illinois on Dec. 31. Palm had the same prediction after Alabama’s 24-3 loss to Oklahoma.

Mark Schlabach-ESPN

Schlabach predicts that Alabama will enter the College Football Playoff as the No. 12 seed. In his scenario, Alabama would travel to South Bend, Indiana to face the No. 5 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the first round of the playoffs.

Kyle Bonagura-ESPN

Bonagura’s prediction for Alabama is that the Crimson Tide will miss the playoffs. He has Alabama playing Illinois in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Brad Crawford – 247 Sports

Crawford has changed his forecast from a week ago. After Alabama’s 24-3 loss to Oklahoma, he initially had Alabama travel to the Citrus Bowl to play Illinois. Now, Crawford predicts Alabama will make it into the CFP, securing the 11th seed. Alabama would travel to State College, Pennsylvania to face No. 6 Penn State in the first round of the CFP. Crawford assumed Alabama would win the game and advanced to the quarterfinals, where they faced No. 3 seed SMU in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia. Crawford continued to predict that Alabama would win that game and advanced to the Orange Bowl semifinal game against Texas. Crawford makes Alabama lose this game.
