Lee and Gordon from New Jersey qualify for the Foot Locker XC Nationals

Allison Lee NJ and Liliah Gordon of New Jersey qualified for the Foot Locker National Championships by showing very strong racing at the Foot Locker Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston.

The top ten finishers automatically qualified for the Foot Locker National Championships on December 14th at Balboa Park in San Diego.

Lee, a junior at West Windsor-Plainsboro North High, continued her breakout season by finishing sixth in 17:59, and Penn State native Gordon, a senior at Northern Burlington, qualified second Consecutive Nationals by placing seventh in 18:01.

Lee’s goal puts an exclamation point on a fantastic season that included a course record of 17:46 at Thompson Park as she won the Central Jersey Group 3 title. She also won the Colonial Valley Conference Championship, placed second at the State Group 3 meet and finished third at the Meet of Champions.

Gordon, who won her third straight Group 3 title and placed second at the Meet of Champions earlier this month, added her name to a small list of New Jersey runners who have qualified for the FL Nationals multiple times! Gordon also placed seventh at the FL NE Regional last year before placing 33rd at the FL Nationals.

Leah Starkey of Ocean Township, which won the Group 2 state title, ended her remarkable freshman season by narrowly missing out on qualifying for the national championships with her 12th-place finish in 18:29.
In the boys race, senior Luke Disco of Bridgewater-Raritan, Skyland Conference Champ and 8th place finisher at the Meet of Champions, missed qualifying for the national race by just one spot. Disko finished 11th in 15:42, six seconds behind the 10th and final qualifier. Silas Gartner of East Falmouth, Massachusetts, who ran 15:36. senior Max Bonilla of Elizabeth, Union County and North Jersey, Sec. 2 Group 4 champion, was the second highest NJ finisher, placing 24th in 15:56.
