Lenovo Legion Go has just hit its lowest price ever as rumors of a sequel grow

The Legion Go is currently listed for just $479.97 and is selling for just under a third of the original suggested retail price, adding further fuel to the rumors that Lenovo is planning to release a new update very soon.

It’s an uphill battle for the best gaming handheld PCs, and Lenovo faces stiff competition from other big players. Still, the Lenovo Legion Go has made a name for itself thanks to its large screen and detachable controller design. It’s a fantastic option for gamers who need versatility, with specs that significantly exceed the original Steam Deck and give the Asus ROG Ally a run for their money.

Looking closer at the design, it offers two detachable Nintendo Switch-style controllers that can be conveniently attached to the sides, but can then also be used to control the device from a slightly further distance. You can even connect the Legion Go to your TV and play with the controllers from your sofa.

Not that you need a second screen, as the Legion Go’s huge 8.8-inch display looks amazing with its crisp 1600p resolution and vibrant colors. It can’t quite match the contrast of the Steam Deck OLED display, but it’s still a nice panel to look at.

There’s plenty of horsepower under the hood of this handheld, too. It uses the same eight-core AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU as the Asus ROG Ally and also houses a GPU with 12 RDNA 3 Compute Units. It also includes 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM as well as two different storage options of 512GB or 1TB, although you can manually upgrade them later.

So you get great specs and an even higher price, but there’s more than just a Black Friday deal here. Newer handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally With rumors swirling about the Legion Go 2, these discounts are a strong indicator that older stock is selling out and is ready for the arrival of a new upgrade. However, it’s important to emphasize that Lenovo hasn’t announced one yet.

But don’t let that put you off. This is still a great handheld for gamers, and for under $500 you’ll be hard-pressed to find a gaming PC or laptop that offers the power and portability that the Legion Go offers. But you better be quick, because the last big price cut quickly ran out of stock.
