Like Shannah Gilbert’s mother after Long Island Serial Killer connection died

The Gilbert family is in front and the focus in Netflix’s new documents. Gone Girls: The serial killer Long Island. After Mari Gilbert pushed the authorities to examine the disappearance of her daughter Shannan Gilbert in 2010, the search for the corpses led to the corpses of several murder victims in Long Island.

Shannan’s remains were only in December 2011, and the investigators do not believe that she was the victim of a serial killer. Years later, Shannan’s mother faced her own cruel fate. Mari was murdered by her daughter Sarra on July 23, 2016. Sarra stabbed her mother to death and was charged with a fourth degree for murder and the possession of a weapon.

After Sarra, who is schizophrenic, had fatally stabbed Mari 227 times, she flated her mother with a fire extinguisher. Another of Maris daughters, Sherre, spoke in a Facebook post after Mari’s death of Sarra’s mental illnesses.

“As many of you may know, my mother died yesterday. She was murdered by my sister Sarra, who fought against a mental illness for 2 1/2 years,” said Sherre. “My sister Stevie and I are incredibly destroyed when our mother was the backbone of the family.”

Sarra was convicted of her crimes and sentenced to 25 years in prison. She is currently serving her 25-year prison sentence in the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for women.

Mari died seven years before a man, Rex Heuermann, the alleged Gilgo Beach series killer, was arrested for seven women because of the murders. He is currently captured in the Riverhead Correctional Facility in Suffolk County, New York, and waiting for his process. Heuermann has not committed himself to the charges against him.

Although the investigators came to the conclusion that Shannan’s death was due to drown and was not associated with those of the victims of the serial killer of the Long Island killer, Mari fought this faith before her own death. “I think Mari would still make sure that Shannan’s death masters a murder and she would not be convinced that Shannan’s death was separated from the others”, a reporter who was interviewed Gone Girls Theoretized.
