The most famous tournament in the Golf is in progress, with the edition of The Masters 2025 on Thursday in the Augusta National Golf Club.

Each of the 95 golfers who made their way to Georgia this week did so with the hope of ending the tournament with a triumphant walk into the Butler Cabin and with a green jacket that was draped around them.

For almost half of the Masters field, these dreams will not even make it until the weekend.

Like many big golf tournaments, the Masters has a cut line after the first 36 holes that remove a solid part of the field, which does not reach a certain number of points at the time of the event. With many previous masters, this cut line has not only affected some of the most inexperienced and relatively anonymous competitors. It claimed some of the largest and experienced names of the sport.

Here is a look at the average of the 2025 Masters, including those who have not made it, what the cut line is and much more:

The projected cutting line at the beginning of the second round at the Masters is 2-Über-PAR according to the PGA website. A total of 54 golfers should make the cut with a score of 2-over or better.

With the CUT line at 2-over-par Past Masters Champions Bernhard Langer, Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Mike Weir, Adam Scott and José María Olazábal are able to miss the cut.

Here is a look at some remarkable players who would be out of the tournament from the tournament if it ends up with the current projected cut line of 2-over par:

  • T-55. Dustin Johnson (+3)
  • T-55. Bernhard Langer (+3)
  • T-55. Keegan Bradley (+3)
  • T-60 Robert Macintyre (+4)
  • T-60. Fred couples (+4)
  • T-60. Mike Weir (+4)
  • T-60. Tony Finau (+4)
  • T-60. Sergio Garcia (+4)
  • T-69. Brooks Koepka (+5)
  • T-69. Adam Scott (+5)
  • T-69. Billy Horschel (+5)
  • T-79. José María Olazábal (+7)
  • T-83. Will Zalatoris (+8)

How many do the masters cut?

The players in the top 50 locations in the ranking, including ties, continue the cut and continue playing in the masters into the weekend.

Previously, everyone within 10 strokes from the lead also made the cut, but this rule was scrapped for the 2020 Masters, which was pushed back to November due to the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemy.

What is the master cut? Rules and what you need to know

The cut at the master dismantled the field to about half of the 95 participants who started at the tournament on Thursday.

Reasons after the first 36 competition holes are common in large golf tournaments.

Will Tiger Woods have the masters cut?

Woods is not played six years after winning his sixth green jacket in 2025 Masters after operating in March to repair an Achilles tendon.

On April 1, Woods released on X, who was previously known as a Twitter Social Media platform, after an intensive routine that had slept in a hyperbara chamber, but it was an April Fool’s joke (although some respondents like Pundit Jason Whitlocks were wrong).
