Not many are aware that Charles Kushner, Donald Trump’s newly appointed ambassador to France, is based in Long Branch. Even most of the media just says he’s from New Jersey or Deal, but he’s from Long Branch.

Nicole Kushner Meyer, president of Kushner Real Estate Company, is the face of the New York company at local events. At the groundbreaking performance on Lower Broadway in Long Branch in March, she spoke about memories of her childhood in Long Branch, where she spent much of her time on the beach.

In June, at the groundbreaking ceremony for Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, she lovingly and tearfully recounted how her father took her to Monmouth Mall when she was a little girl and told her about his plans and dreams for the property. Nicole’s mother Seryl wiped tears from her eyes as she proudly watched her daughter talk about the memories alongside her husband Charlie.

In a recent tweet, Trump claimed: “I am pleased to appoint Charles Kushner of New Jersey as US Ambassador to France.” He is an outstanding business leader, philanthropist and dealmaker who will be a strong advocate representing our country and its interests represents. Charlie is the founder and chairman of Kushner Companies, one of the largest and most successful private real estate companies in the country. He was recognized as Ernst & Young’s New Jersey Entrepreneur of the Year, was appointed to the US Holocaust Memorial Council, and served as Commissioner and Chairman of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and on the Board of Directors of our top institutions, including NYU.

Congratulations to Charlie, his wonderful wife Seryl, their four children and 14 grandchildren. His son Jared worked closely with me at the White House, particularly on Operation Warp Speed, criminal justice reform and the Abraham Accords. Together we will strengthen America’s partnership with France, our oldest ally and one of our greatest!”
