Los Angeles murder suspect arrested in Victoria County

A Los Angeles murder suspect has been arrested in Victoria County. The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Los Angeles Police Department investigators regarding a person wanted for murder who resided in Victoria County. LAPD detectives provided the Sheriff’s Office with a copy of an arrest warrant (homicide) for Alfred Birdsong (b. 66, resident of Victoria).

WHERE WAS HE ARRESTED?

On December 2, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, Criminal Investigation Division, and Patrol Division made contact with Mr. Birdsong in the 5300 block of FM 447. Mr. Birdsong was arrested and transported to the Victoria County Jail without incident. An incredible effort by everyone involved: the Victoria Sheriff’s Office and the SWAT team, as well as the investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Mr. Birdsong is being held in the Victoria County Jail on an out-of-state murder charge on a $2,000,000 bond

WATER RESTRICTIONS:

The City of Victoria is still under Stage 2 water restrictions. Under Stage II of the plan, residents are required to limit certain types of non-essential water use to the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. to midnight to reduce water loss through evaporation to avoid. Activities restricted to these hours include, but are not limited to, the use of an automatic lawn sprinkler or hose-end sprinkler system, filling swimming pools, and washing vehicles, although this restriction does not apply to commercial car washes and gas stations.
