Mahomes dissatisfied with Chiefs place after season: “There’s still a long way to go”

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn’t seem pleased after another narrow win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday. The three-time Super Bowl MVP spoke to reporters after the game and checked his team’s temperature over 13 weeks.

“I think when you secure a spot in the playoffs, the first goal is to get to the playoffs and give yourself a chance to get to the Super Bowl,” Mahomes explained. “But we know we still have a long way to go. We have to continue to work on getting better and being a better football team going into the playoffs.”

Mahomes finished the game with over 300 yards passing and a touchdown, while also becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in touchdown passes, passing Len Dawson.

“I mean, we just have such high standards for ourselves that we don’t feel like we’re playing our best football together,” Mahomes said. “It seems like every game (our) offense is doing good, the defense is doing good and vice versa. “We have to find a way to build ourselves up so we can play great as a complete team.

“It’s great that we’re finding ways to get wins. At the end of the day; That’s what you’re aiming for, but our goal is to get to the Super Bowl. That’s why we’ll try to get better and better so we can play our best football.”

The Chiefs find ways to win close games, but come close, raising concerns among critics as they aim for a three-peat.
