Make-A-Wish surprises Clinton girls with dream trip

A Clinton girl got the surprise of her life Thursday.

Make-A-Wish Mississippi partnered with Magnolia Health to grant 6-year-old Harper’s wish to go to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. They surprised her with the news at Magnolia Health in Ridgeland.

Harper, of Clinton, was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in May. It is a form of kidney cancer. She was treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Her father Dustin Jones said: “You would never say there was anything wrong with her, except at the moment I think for the hair, but other than that she’s doing great. She never really let up, even through the whole process, and that’s something that affects her. Not everyone can say that when you’re going through something like that.”

Harper enjoys playing soccer, dancing, and playing with her siblings.

Her father said she undergoes regular checkups to monitor her health but is doing well.
