Man and woman found dead on beach in suspected murder-suicide at suburban Melbourne home

Two bodies were found in a house in a Melbourne suburb.

The man and woman were discovered at a property on James Street in Mordialloc, in the southeast of the city, just before 11am on Thursday.

Photos from the scene show SES squads assisting police as a crime scene was investigated on the residential street.

The couple has not yet been officially identified.

Neighbor Jade Lindsay said she heard a “blood-curdling scream” from a “very distressed” woman who discovered the bodies.

“It was a really agonizing, bloodcurdling scream that really scared me because it lasted so long,” she told the Herald Sun.

“It’s quite disturbing to hear that… obviously the lady who was screaming was very distressed.”

Ms. Lindsay said a man and a woman, believed to be in their 30s, were walking up and down the sidewalk in front of the house.

She saw the man stop and put his head in his hands.

Victoria Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

“The circumstances of the deaths remain to be clarified,” police said.

“Officers have cordoned off the area and established a crime scene.”

There is no danger to the community.
