COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – Lexington County officials arrested one person Saturday evening after a shooting left a young man dead in West Columbia.

The shooting happened late Saturday evening at the Riverbend Apartments on North Lucas Street.

Officials have charged 26-year-old Justin Brandon McCrae with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. McCrae is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim as Mr. Bradley Freeman Tucker, who was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

A local resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity for safety reasons, described the moments leading up to a shooting that left 24-year-old Bradley Tucker dead.

He came outside not knowing what he would encounter and told WIS on Sunday afternoon that he couldn’t sleep after everything that had happened.

“I saw a man shoot another man… and it was very depressing,” the resident said. “It was very dramatic, very destructive.”

The coroner says an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office have confirmed that they will continue to investigate this incident.
