Man charged in death of Staten Island man found shot to death in car in New Jersey

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Passaic County officials have announced the arrest of one person in connection with the death of a 21-year-old Staten Island man who was found with fatal gunshot wounds in a car that crashed outside a Paterson hospital. NJ last month.

Robert Davis, 43, of Paterson, was charged with murder in the Nov. 12 murder that allegedly occurred near Godwin Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard, according to a release from the Passaic County District Attorney’s Office.

Davis was arrested Monday without incident and faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and attempted murder, as well as several weapons charges, according to authorities.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the Staten Islander, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

A second occupant of the vehicle who was also shot, a 27-year-old man from Paterson, exited the car and went to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was admitted for treatment, according to a statement from the Passaic District Attorney’s Office and the Paterson Police Department at the time of the incident.

Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
