HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities have confirmed that a man is now charged in the stabbing death of a mother and her toddler.
Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, 29, is charged with murder.
Houston police said the stabbing occurred just after 3 a.m. Friday at an apartment in west Houston on Richmond Avenue
According to HPD, someone alerted officers that the woman and child were being held hostage in the apartment.
When officers arrived, they said they found Fisher sleeping on a couch.

After a security search of the apartment, police said the 28-year-old mother and her two-year-old child were found with multiple stab wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to HPD, when Fisher was arrested, he was found with injuries consistent with a physical altercation and blood on his clothing.
He was booked into the Harris County Jail.
According to the police, the coroner’s office has yet to disclose the identity of the victims to their family members.
It is unclear what relationship Fisher had to the victims.
