Man Wanted for Murder Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Wellston

A Midwest City man wanted for murder was arrested Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Office in Wellston.

WELLSTON, Okla. (KFOR) – A Midwest City man wanted for murder was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Wellston on Wednesday.

“He was just bleeding everywhere and I didn’t know exactly where it was. I did what I could,” said Larry, who witnessed Jacob Price’s final moments.

Archer allegedly shot Price on Nov. 19 at an apartment complex near E Reno Ave and W Glenhaven in Midwest City.

Larry said he had known Price for a while and was a good kid who would never hurt anyone.

The family set up a GoFundMe for Price in hopes of affording his memorial and funeral services.

According to court documents, a woman told police that Archer was at the complex that day and wanted to buy jewelry. She said that a woman Price once dated lived with her and that he lived in the same apartment complex.

That night, the woman said Archer left to return to his vehicle and get his wallet. She said a struggle ensued between Price and Archer and a single shot was fired.

Larry said he heard the shot and saw Price stumble toward his door.

“The chair I had in front of my door was pushed aside and he fell. I picked him up and called him over to lie down. My wife gave me a towel to stop all the blood,” Larry said.

He said there was an apparent entry wound that went through Price’s arm to the other side.

“My wife’s yelling, the girl’s kind of half hysterical, the dispatch was hysterical. “Jake’s mom comes down and stands right next to him and screams help my baby,” Larry said.

“He just stopped moving and breathing right there,” Larry said.

Archer’s home is in rural Wellston. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office conducted a large-scale manhunt for him on Tuesday, but it was unsuccessful and the search was called off.

On Wednesday morning, the U.S. Marshals Service sent out a $10 million warrant in hopes of finding information leading to Archer’s arrest.

News 4 went to the property Archer owns and spoke with neighbors who were shocked to learn he was wanted for murder.

While News 4 was near the property, Archer was located and taken into custody.

Family and friends told News 4 they were relieved to hear it.
