Mandatory water protection order for 70,000 Pennsylvania American Water customers

About 70,000 customers in Pennsylvania American Water Water in the allegheny counties, Washington and Beaver were briefly under an obligatory water protection decision on Thursday.

Pennsylvania American Water said it had to maintain the water supply and pressure, while it had to be solved in solving an “unexpected electrical problem” in the Aldrich water treatment plant. The message was lifted shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Customers in communities such as Bethel Park, South Fayette, South Park, Hanover, Canonsburg, Washington, McDonald and Peters were asked to limit their water consumption and reduce them by 10% to 15%.

According to the utility, customers can save water by carrying out their dishwasher and laundry machines when they are full. If you park the tap while brushing your teeth or washing dishes, you can save water. Customers are also asked to look for leaks.

Pennsylvania American Water said that customers informed customers through its automated emergency registration system.

“Our teams work hard to restore the electrical problem as soon as possible,” said the company in a press release.
