Many Saturdays will remain cool as it will be cloudy

Good Saturday morning everyone. As expected, clouds have formed overnight, with perhaps a few thunderstorms in the northern Ozarks. The better snow this morning is limited to the I-70 corridor in central and northern Missouri as our storm system continues to move out of the plains and spread overhead.

While FutureCast wants the accumulating snow to stay to our north, a few light snow showers or flurries will attempt to graze areas from Cole Camp across Lake of the Ozarks to Rolla northward late this morning and into the afternoon. Areas south of there may experience intermittent light showers, but should be limited to isolated showers near Springfield. If anything were to accumulate in the Northern Ozarks, it wouldn’t be much. Any rainfall amounts should remain under a quarter of an inch. All grassy and elevated snow accumulations should be between a dust layer and no more than a quarter inch.

After this system dissipates and leaves us partly cloudy tonight and partly sunny Sunday, we should remain calm until the next potential system on December 9th. This means that by next week we will see our jet stream take us from a cold setup to a welcome rise in temperatures by the middle of next week.

While there is disagreement about how quickly we can cool things down by the end of next week, highs could fall back into the lower 40s by next Friday.
