Mariners play Bonus Cactus League game, lose against Giants 10-9 in Extras

Did you miss spring training? Then I have good news for you because the Mariners and Giants have brought a very cactus League energy to the tendency of this afternoon: a parade of helpers on both sides, sloppy defense, expanded bats. The referee of Home Plate Sean Barber even got in the mood, whereby a Rocco strike zone is less convincing than the Kate Middleton photo.

As with a cactus league game, the box score interprets a game with many highlights. But unfortunately, even like a cactus league game, it was more shrill for an afternoon with half a dozen lead changes. And so we will use a proven spring training recap format like a spring training game and tell most of the game through Bullet points. Here are some statistics from this game:

  • 4:09: Length of today’s game
  • 17: jugs used in today’s game
  • 154: Capped by Cal Raleigh today by Cal Raleigh (235 Mariners parking spaces, minus 38 GDP and 43 fouls)
  • 2.1: Innings set up today by Justin Endelander
  • 119: Consecutive Harts Justin Belander had done without being pulled after 2.1 Inning or less
  • 12/65: Hubs and parking spaces from hinge, although he bounced after two and a third party
  • 942: days since Luis F Castillo most recently appeared on an MLB hill
  • 4: Balls in Julio Rodriguez’s game over 100 miles per hour
  • 10: Mariners Hitter, who surely reached the base (all except Mastrobouni)
  • 75: Top -Velo on a Mariners’ Infieldder throw today’s game (I suspect in this case)
  • 13: Cal Raleigh parking spaces in a third Inning walk
  • 1: Innerings The Mariners did not allow a Baserunner
  • 6: Homeruns this season by Aaron Judge (ok that you don’t have to do with the Mariners game, but you know, credit, where due)

But for this game as I am, there was admittedly some Highlights.

The best thing came when the game started back during the Clinton administration. Julio punished a fast ball in a hinge fastball for a Homerun to the opposite field. And I may remind you that the opposite field for a right hit in San Francisco is one of the toughest home runs that are hit in baseball. It is a strength of the strength in which only 32 other players are reached The last decade.

As mentioned in the balls, it was one of four balls that Julio hit the game at more than 100 miles per hour. To do this, only add his second deliberate walk since 2023 and today had to feel like a big boost for the central field player, whose shoulders the franchise rests. And for that he also begins with his second Sun has Award in a row.

However, this award is a close call about the other most remarkable individual contribution to today’s game, from a rejuvenated gift Speier. Playing in San Francisco is a big deal for the native Californian. His great uncle Chris Speier is a member of the San Francisco Giants Hall of Fame, and Gabe had his parents and many family present to watch him today. The irony of being a helper is that it is definitely short when you reward your audience with a good performance. SPEIERS Halben Ining was the only one in which the Mariner kept the bases clean today. With three hubs on four swings and another four strikes mentioned as strikes, his ten pitch inning was one of the few MLB caliber appearances on the diamond on the diamond. So he receives a praise for today’s sun hat.

But mostly this game lingered like the back half of an Olivia Rodrigo album, filled with boners like Ryan Bliss, which was missing a double game because it was in the wrong place. (I don’t want to choose Bliss, the defects of which were hardly lonely because he actually had a barrel today. This game was simply the best available synecdoche.) For a moment, the baseball seemed to turn to its usual poetry, with the Mariners taking the lead in the top of the 11th inning by evaluating on a wild field. Naturally The winning run would score on a wild field. How could this game end in other ways? But no, today nothing was neat, not even the narrative. Willie Adames went off with a double, perfectly legitimate single in the bottom of the inn. Go figure.
