Mario Cristobal advocates for Miami to get into the College Football Playoff

The Miami Hurricanes lost their last game of the regular season Syracuse Orange falling to 10-2 and missing the ACC Championship Game. This means the Hurricanes will have to rely on the selection committee if they want to make it College Football Playoffs.

Despite the second loss, the team’s head coach is one who believes Miami still deserves to make the playoffs. Mario Cristobal. He explained why he believes the Hurricanes still deserve a chance after their recent loss.

“They reemphasize reality,” Mario Cristobal said. “This team has won 10 football games against some really good opponents. In this last game it went all the way to the end. Both of our losses came on one possession remaining and a touchdown. That makes us one of the better teams in the country. We can control what we can control. So we’ll have to wait and see, but definitely this team worked really hard and tried their best to be their best.”

It will be difficult for Miami to avoid the loss at Syracuse, with all its frustrations. At one point the Hurricanes took a 21-0 lead before the Orange got back into the game. Then, in the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes would settle for a field goal instead of going for a touchdown to decide the game.

Now Miami’s fate rests in the hands of the College Football Playoff selection committee. The next rankings will be released on Tuesday evening and should provide an insight into the Hurricanes’ position. At this point, the only changes will come from the conference championship games. In the ACC it will be somewhere in between SMU And Clemson.

Paul Finebaum: Miami “always doesn’t deliver.”

On Sunday after the loss at Syracuse, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum appeared Sports center There he was critical of Miami and shared that he feels like the Hurricanes always fail in big moments.

“That’s just not possible when everything is at stake. This is a tendency of Mario Cristobal’s teams in Miami. Remember, they had this Georgia Tech game and they blew it,” Finebaum said.

“They had this game in their hands. They were up 21-0 on the road. I realize that Syracuse is a very good team, but when you have one of the best quarterbacks and one of the best players in the country, you have to deliver. And the Miami Hurricanes always fail to do that.”
