My analysis
Klay Thompson actually played pretty well since Kyrie Irving has scored his ACL in the 10 games on average 16.4 points since then, including that in which Irving had dropped only nine minutes after the game. In fact, Thompson clarified this lean support in six of these 10 games.

One of these successes was even on the second night of a back-to-back and scored 26 points in San Antonio. Thompson played 36 minutes in this four-point victory, a confusing outlier.

In the 10 games since Irving’s injury, Thompson has cleared 30 minutes in five of them, but 34 minutes in just three. This whole season, he played more than 35 minutes that night in San Antonio. It was a questionable choice of Jason Kidd to ask this workload in the second night of a back-to-back back load of all 35-year Garners’ notice.

Since then, Thompson has scored an average of 28 minutes and 49 seconds together with 13.2 points in five games. He has these lean points in three of the five games, one of the exceptions to Philadelphia, the worst defense in the NBA since the all-star break.
