(Meet Inside Texas TODAY and get 7 days for just ONE DOLLAR!)

The first National Commitment Day for college football begins December 4th and runs through December 6th. This series offers you the opportunity to get acquainted with the next class in keeping Texas at the national level.

To win at a consistently high level, you have to stack one talented class after another. The top-five 2025 class accomplishes just that after finishing in the top six in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 classes.

On the first National Signing Day, Inside Texas is offering profiles of all members of the 2025 signing class. Next up is Jaime Ffrench.

The player: Jaime FfrenchWR, Jacksonville (Florida) Mandarin

The rating: 95.91 (four stars)

The ranking: Ffrench is ranked as the No. 35 overall prospect, the No. 7 wide receiver and the No. 5 player in Florida in the On3 Industry Rankings. On3 ranks Ffrench as the No. 66 overall prospect, the No. 12 wide receiver and the No. 9 player in Florida

The highlights:

The recruitment: Ffrench, once committed to Alabama, went back on his promise to the Crimson Tide after Nick Saban retired. Local schools like Florida State, Florida and Miami pursued the 6-foot-1,184-pounder, as did national programs like Texas, LSU and Ohio State. The Longhorns received an official visit in June, one of several for Ffrench in Austin in the spring of 2024, and received his commitment on the eve of Miami and Florida’s season on Aug. 30. Despite a late push by the Gators, Ffrench remained stuck with his Longhorns commitment.

The projection: Ffrench is a really lithe athlete at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds. He has excellent body control and ball skills, which, combined with the smaller stature of high school players, often make him look quite large on his highlight reels. His track times suggest he’s not a burner, but he’s so economical in route running and cuts on the field that he ends up looking awfully fast. Ffrench makes a lot of sense as a boundary receiver who can reliably get open at the chains, make contested catches down the field, and be a high-volume target outside.

The last word: Steve Sarkisian and Chris Jackson competed at state and national programs to be one of the top receivers in their class. The combination of Sarkisian’s offensive opportunities and robust off-field opportunities for Ffrench in Austin made the Longhorns the perfect choice for four-star honors in the On3 Industry Rankings.
