Meghan Markle’s Wildfire Aid Is Mocked by Candace Owens

Meghan Markle was mocked by Candace Owens after a reporter tried to explain her help to Los Angeles wildfire victims during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit to the wildfire zone.

“She bent down and picked up the lid of a plastic container,” Owens said in a TikTok clip. “And so I knew my girl was real, and I just want to thank Meghan for that. It’s very helpful for them to bend over and do that.”

Owens said Newsweek in a statement: “I agree with the general public opinion that Meghan and Harry are phony ambulance chasers.”

Why it matters

Meghan and Harry’s visit to the wildfire zone fits right into the context of a traditional royal engagement, but the fact that the couple is no longer working as a royal seems to have gone down poorly with some people.

It probably didn’t help them that many news footage showed them talking to World Central Kitchen employees and Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo or walking through devastated streets instead of packing boxes of supplies for victims.

However, it remains the case that the Sussexes appear to be in the same negative spiral with conservative Americans that they were in with conservative Brits before leaving the royal family.

What you should know

The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry toured fire-ravaged neighborhoods and visited a site in Pasadena where World Central Kitchen was providing disaster relief last Friday.

Owens shared a snippet of an interview with Gordo in which the reporter said, “It looked like they both really wanted to be helpful because I actually saw Meghan Markle bend down and take the top off a bottle.” They wanted to really get dirty?”

Owens said: “If you see plastic bins anywhere that need to be picked up, you can talk to your friend Meghan Markle. This is great.”

“That description really made me laugh. It’s just such nonsense. Nobody cares. Send money, send food, it’s about what these people need.”

“They need donations, they need accommodation, they need hotels. That doesn’t mean they don’t do it, I’m sure they may operate in the background, but I just don’t understand this visit.”

She also poked fun at Meghan’s decision to postpone her Netflix show With love, Meghan.

“Meghan, our Duchess, has decided that she’s going to push forward with the Netflix series, the one where we showed you her cooking skills, it’s so relatable.”

“She felt that it might not make sense at that point to see her cooking at one of her friends’ villas, inviting her rich and fabulous people over, while getting honey from the garden and wearing perfect Martha Stewart looks presented.” cake.

“They thought maybe it wasn’t the right time. It was kind of devastating that they had to push this forward but then people could see it at a later date.”

The clip of Owens’ comments was liked 27,000 times and viewed 550,000 times after being posted on TikTok.

What people say

Not everyone agreed with Owens A comment on her post was read: “I like Candace, but the hatred of Meghan Markle is ridiculous.”

Another commenter said: “I don’t understand how a reporter’s question about a moment of Meghan’s volunteer work, probably in the middle of a job, is now used to criticize Meghan again. That makes no sense.”
