Iron Lynx has confirmed that the German brand will also take part in the European Le Mans Series for the first time as part of its new partnership with Mercedes-AMG for 2025.

The Italian squad started the 2025 ELMS season as reigning LMGT3 champions when Hiroshi Hamaguchi, Axcil Jefferies and Andrea Caldarelli took the title in the final round of the Portimao finals in October.

Iron Lynx did not provide further details about its ELMS efforts, such as the number of Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos it plans to field or the identities of its drivers.

Confirmation of a European program comes just weeks after the Andrea Piccini-led team announced it had struck a deal with Mercedes-AMG that would allow the German brand to move into the LMGT3 class of the FIA endurance racing championship. World Championship to enter after previously being excluded from category’s debut season.

Stefan Wendl, head of customer racing at Mercedes-AMG, had previously expressed the idea of pursuing an ELMS entry to give the brand access to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but before the partnership with Iron Lynx.

The Stuttgart brand has never appeared on the ELMS grid, even when the series hosted GT3 machines as part of the GTC class in its first three seasons under ACO management.

However, the brand was often represented in the Michelin Le Mans Cup series, which is an integral part of the ELMS support package.
