Miley Cyrus thanks Pamela Anderson and celebrates Golden Globe nomination for song “The Last Showgirl.”

Miley Cyrus thanks Pamela Anderson for sharing the success of her latest project with the Grammy winner.

Cyrus released her new single “Beautiful That Way,” which was written and recorded for Gia Coppola The last showgirl on December 9th. The song’s release came shortly after its nomination for a Golden Globe in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category.

After Cyrus’ nomination was announced, she thanked Anderson, 57, and Coppola, 37, for inviting her to work on the production.

“It’s an honor to be nominated for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes & Critics Choice Awards alongside my friends and colleagues Andrew Wyatt and Lykke Li,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram.

“Pamela generously shares her moment with us. I keep my fingers crossed for her; “So much fun to watch her shine,” Cyrus wrote of Anderson, who is a serious awards contender for the first time in her 35 years in Hollywood.

Cyrus concluded the post by thanking the director, writing, “Thank you Gia Coppola for inviting me to be part of your gem.” The Last Showgirl.”

Cyrus’ latest single was co-written with producers Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt.

“Pamela is ingrained in my earliest memories with my mother,” Cyrus said diversity. “We both worshiped Pam and still do.”

“I have the emotions I feel about that time with my mother and the few times we got to spend with Pam. “I’ve been thinking a lot about what this film means to her, not just as an actress, but as the special person that she is,” Cyrus continued. “I celebrate evolution and she has done it in such a graceful way, which is reflected in this Last Showgirl.”

Anderson was also nominated for a Golden Globe for her work in the film, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song. In her nomination statement, Anderson expressed her gratitude and praised Cyrus, Li and Wyatt for their work.

“I share this beautiful nomination The Last Showgirl family, my family and my hard-working companions on this interesting journey,” Anderson wrote in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “It’s never too late to dream, to start again, to stay open to possibilities – we’re not all that lucky.”

“I wish everyone my love and thanks as I navigate this new exciting chapter,” Anderson added.

The Last Showgirl opens in select theaters on Friday, December 13th before broadcasting in January.

The Golden Globes air live on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday, January 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
