MLB managers believe that Cubs are heading directly to a Kyle Tucker disaster

The Chicago Cubs are well certified, currently 12-8 with a lead of 1.5 games over second place Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central. This roster has all of a legitimate contender in the National League. Craig Punsell is an elite-in-game manager (sorry, Brew Crew) and the crime is a miles ahead of where it was a year ago.

Why the sudden jump in productivity? Well, there is recognition to walk around. Seiya Suzuki looks like an all-star. Michael Busch makes the jump. And there is this little -known outfield called Kyle Tucker Raking Baseballs like Prime Ken Griffey Jr.

Tucker’s arrival was the largest act of the MLB new season, apart from the Juan Soto -saga. The Houston Astros received the former champion and acquired MLBS number 55 in Cam Smith and the former all-star ISAAC paredes as part of a robust return package. The Cubs scored Tucker, a 30-home run and 100-RBI threat with plus defense in the outer field.

The early returns are excellent. Tucker’s blow .313 with 1.027 ops, five homes and 18 RBI in 20 games. It is on an MVP flight for the Cubs and gives them the offensive Centerpiece Countries’ line -up, which was so desperate last season.

However, it is not all sunshine and rainbow, as Tucker’s term in Wrigleyville may not last much longer.

MLB manager believe that Kyle Tucker will be so good in the next off -season from Cubs

Mark Feinand from MLB.com interviewed several MLB executives about the future for Kyle Tucker. The Cubs would probably like to organize an extension, but the price is exorbitant and Tucker has very little motivation to complete a deal before the free agency if the open market can further increase its price.

“If the Cubs do not expand it, it can drop as a terrible trade ever,” said an al manager.

“He will probably be the best player on the market. I cannot imagine that he will give up the opportunity for a bidding war to possibly take place for his services,” said an NL -EX.

“We speak of a left-hander who causes a similar war and a more constant offensive value (as Vladimir Guerrero Jr.),” said another al-Exec.

To be dull, Tucker costs too much to extend himself, and he can win too much if he takes things into the freelance agency. Even if the 28-year-old enjoys Chicago, it seems, baseball is a business. And when it comes to baseball business, only a few GMS have a worse reputation than any hoyer. Historically, the Cubs do not spend at this level. Tom Ricketts may have to clarify the third largest check in MLB history, behind only Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto.

Is he ready to do that? Better not rely on it.

Tucker would be worth every penny if he could bring superstar’s offensive production into the heart of Chicago for the next decade. The CUBs are one of the most profitable team of baseball in a sophisticated quarter of a huge media market. There is no really apology not To exceed the market and win a bidding war, but Rickett and Hoyer will create one. Fear not.

When Chicago Tucker after a single season – especially when this season ends shortly before a world championship title – this will actually be a terribly one -sided trade. The Cubs sacrificed significant future upward trends to swing Tucker. It was the right step, but now Chicago has to put her money where her mouth is and support it. Dye me skeptical.
