Model shoots husband in Florida condo in horrific murder-suicide

Police officers arrived at a residence on South Ocean Drive in Florida after midnight on Wednesday, November 27, after a ShotSpotter alarm was triggered. They would discover a horrific scene in which the lifeless bodies of Sabrina Krasniqi and Pajtim Krasniqi, a married couple, lie on their seaside balcony. Sabrina, a model, reportedly shot her husband five times in an apparent gruesome murder-suicide before turning the gun on herself.

Police found the bodies and declared them dead at the scene. An investigation conducted by police revealed that Sabrina Krasniqi shot Patjim. According to NBC South Florida, ShotSpotter alarms registered five consecutive shots, followed by a brief pause, followed by a sixth shot. Aerial photos show the bodies lying on the balcony, bullet holes in the glass door of the apartment on the 45th floor and pools of blood on the floor.

FirstService Residential, a company that manages the apartment building, issued a statement about the murder-suicide. “We are aware of and are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred in our building overnight,” the statement said. “We are cooperating fully with authorities in this ongoing investigation, which they believe is an isolated incident. The safety of our residents remains our top priority.”

A heartbroken family

Albana Kasniqi, Patjim’s sister, shared a heartbreaking post on Facebook. “I didn’t spend my Thanksgiving evening with my husband and kids,” she wrote. “I spent the time listening to police officers, detectives and news reports discussing the cruel and senseless murder of my youngest brother at the hands of his wife.”

“The person he trusted most, the person he wanted to spend his life with, was the one who took his being,” Albana continued. “She betrayed him, his love and his trust. She destroyed my family. My siblings and I will never be the same again.”

Friends and family flooded Albana’s post with support and condolences. Meanwhile, residents near the apartment building where the shooting occurred feel scared and unsafe. “It makes me feel unsafe. Like, I don’t want to go in, even if I’m honestly allowed to,” an unidentified tenant told NBC South Florida. “I’ve never seen anything like this before. I’ve been here since I was a little kid. It’s wild.”
