Allan Nyom: Has been honored three times in six appearances since returning to Getafe

Given the referee and the teams involved, our football props column expects plenty of fouls in Monday’s La Liga game – and also backs an old card favorite…

Getafe vs EspanyolMonday, December 9th, 8:00 p.m

Stage 1: Allan Nyom is shown a card

Card players rejoiced at the news in October that Allan Nyom had re-signed for Getafe.

The former West Brom man is back in La Liga after being released by Leganes at the end of last season and has returned to Spain’s long-time villains.

In his previous tenure under coach Jose Bordalas, Nyom played two full seasons, collecting a whopping 18 cards in 2019/20 and 11 the following season.

After being relegated to the Segunda Division with Leganes, he has collected 20 cards in the last two seasons and has already seen three yellow cards in six appearances since his return to the Colosseum.

This once again looks like a game with the right-wing star.

Heading into Monday’s clash, the 17th-ranked hosts sit in 18th place in what looks like a proper relegation “six-point contest.” The two teams are only separated by goal difference, so things certainly look competitive.

Referee Mateo Busquets Ferrer is also a good choice for card hopefuls.

So far this season he has averaged 5.38 yellows per game – a figure that puts him fifth on the La Liga referee list – while he has also picked up four reds in eight games, which is the highest in the league is so high.

Stage 2: Carles Perez commits 2+ fouls

If that’s too short a period of study for you, it’s worth mentioning that Busquets Ferrer was the third-best official in the card game last season.

Notably, Busquets Ferrer is La Liga’s best foul referee this season, with an average of a whopping 29.75 per game. The league average is 25.1.

Given that Getafe are the top team in terms of fouls committed, it seems worth diving into the player fouls market to complete our bet builder.

As you can imagine, there are a lot of players here who are quite small, but two are quite attractive.

Carles Perez is the first to receive the promise to commit more than two fouls.

The Celta Vigo loanee has done this in nine of his last 11 starts.

He has been playing on the left wing in recent weeks and if he continues there he will likely face Jofre Carreras, who has conceded more fouls than any other Espanyol player this season.

Stage 3: Alvaro Rodriguez commits 2+ fouls

In the same market I will support Alvaro Rodriguez 8/11.

Like Nyom, the young centre-forward, on loan from Real Madrid, is a relatively new player to the Getafe squad but has committed no fewer than 13 fouls in his last two games.

Given the referee and the importance of the game, the 6ft 2in Rodriguez looks to offer good value for money and completes a three-legged bet builder that pays north of 6/1.
